Pedro Munhoz plans to make ‘b*tch’ Aljamain Sterling pay for PED comments
With UFC 237 in the books, it’s now onto UFC 238 in Chicago, Illinois and that means we’ll see a big night for the bantamweights. That includes the top-ranked contender, Brazil’s Pedro Munhoz.
Fresh off the biggest win of his career over Cody Garbrandt via first-round knockout at UFC 235 in March, Munhoz is now one fight away from a title shot that he should arguably be getting for his next outing.
Instead, he’ll be taking on a fellow top contender in the Serra-Longo Gym staple, Aljamain ‘Funkmaster’ Sterling. A bout that will surely see the winner take on the new champion that will be decided in the UFC 238 main event for the vacant bantamweight title between Marlon Moraes and flyweight champion, Henry Cejudo.
Never shy to voice his opinion, Sterling took to Twitter last month to call out Munhoz for USADA test failure following his bout with Jerrod Sanders in 2014 (originally a 39-second guillotine win for Munhoz).
I just hope you guys test Pedro properly for this fight. I completely forgot his suspension back in 2015 for his testosterone metabolites.
Dana White said he didnt know you guys weren’t testing for EPO. Well I want that done too. No shortcuts to victory!@usantidoping @USADA_UFC

Uncharacteristically, Munhoz had a rather heated response to Sterlings comments when he was informed about them at UFC 237 over this past weekend.

“He’s already giving an excuse for the loss,” Munhoz told the media during UFC 237 weekend. “My case, what I had was five or four years ago, before USADA. It was a mess. We were fighting [for] like eight months. It was a mess, we spent a lot of money to prove my innocence. They couldn’t find any substance, the only thing they say was that my testosterone level was higher than the other fights I did.
“I’ve been tested [by USADA] over 20 times. If he’s saying that, he’s a bitch, and June 8 he’s going to pay for it. I say what it is, for guys that act like a bitch I call them like a bitch. The guys that don’t, I don’t have no reasons to say that. I’m not a trash talker, but when someone is talking, I hope you have a proof that he’s saying that… Because I don’t go on Twitter at all because Twitter is a bunch of bitches that f*cking go down and tweet a bunch of sh*t. I focus always on myself and if he’s doing that he’s a bitch and June 8 he’s going to pay for it.”
The Garbrandt win extended ‘The Young Punisher’s’ current streak to three and made him 7-1 in his last eight with the lone loss being a split decision against John Dodson.
Sterling also rides a three-fight winning streak which he achieved after scoring a shutout against perennial top contender, Jimmie Rivera in February at UFC Phoenix. After seeing Pedro Munhoz’ scathing response to his comments, Sterling offered a quick follow-up of his own.
If it sounds guilty, looks around like he’s guilty, got damnnit, he must be guilty! Hey @ufc @usantidoping I’ve never heard of a male athlete/fighters T levels being “a little high” in tough training camps. I’m not scientist or Doc but Pedro looks and quacks like a duck 🦆 https://t.co/zPeEtwUvRs

Who gets the win on June 8?
